Tuesday the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced their week 9 volleyball honourees. Here are this week top volley ballers and their recent exploits.

ATLANTA, Ga. (November 2, 2021) – Jazmyne Walker (Central State) was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, while Daija Walton (Benedict) earnedDefensive Player of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Ashleigh Reeves (Benedict) was also tabbed Setter of the Week alongside Morgan Hebert (Fort Valley State) who earned Newcomer of the Week.
OFFENSIVE – Jazmyne Walker, Sophomore, Outside Hitter, Central State
Central State outside hitter Jazmyne Walker led CSU with a combined 63 kills in four matches last week. She had 22 kills on Tuesday at Ohio Dominican, 13 against UC-Clermont, 23 against rival Kentucky State and eight against Ashland. Walker has a team-best 307 kills this season. Walker has led CSU to a 20-10 overall record with 14-3 ledger in SIAC play.
DEFENSIVE – Daija Walton, Senior, Middle Blocker, Benedict
Walton posted a career-high six solo blocks as Benedict defeated SIAC East Division leader Albany State in five sets. The senior also had eight kills.
SETTER – Ashleigh Reeves, Senior, Setter, Benedict
Reeves assisted Benedict in defeating SIAC East Division leader Albany State in 5 sets with season-high 40 assists. The Alabama native also had 18 digs for a double-double.
NEWCOMER – Morgan Hebert, Freshman, Setter, Fort Valley State
Hebert guided the Wildcat offense to back-to-back 3-0 wins over Allen and Trinity Baptist. The California native totaled seven kills with no errors for a .438 attack percentage to go with 41 assists, 10 digs, seven aces, one block assist for the weekend. In the win over Allen, she had six kills for a .667 pct with 26 assists, four digs, two aces, one block assist. Against Trinity Baptist, the freshman setter had 15 assists, six digs, five aces, and one kill.
